Raise Your Helping Hand
We are a healing circle supporting Black women who have experienced trauma. We are a 501 c (3) nonprofit organization, looking forward to a peaceful world by helping women join hands to help heal our community.
What Is Trauma?
“Trauma is a deeply distressing or disturbing experience that produces psychological injury or emotional pain following a life-altering or life-threatening event. Trauma can lead to an overwhelming amount of stress that exceeds one’s ability to cope or handle their emotions. It can lead to extreme anxiety, overwhelming anger, sadness, survivor’s guilt, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Those suffering from traumatic experiences may have ongoing problems sleeping, physical pain, or struggles in their personal and professional relationships, and a feeling of a diminished sense of self-worth.”
Who We Are
We are an organization comprised of volunteers.
What We Believe
We believe Black women are overwhelmed by what is happening in our community.
We believe it is time for Black women to lead in the healing process for herself and her family. This includes every mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and niece.
We endeavor to address our community’s Black women who are disproportionately affected by traumatic experiences. What is essential to our community is connecting support, services, programs, and resources to aid in the healing of Black women, to empower the mothers to raise healthy happy children. We do that, by providing healing circles and educational workshops within the community in churches and other social groups and by providing necessary resources when needed.
